Camp Vintage - Sunday Sept. 7
Church Picnic in the Park
At Mill Lake Park 33075 Bevan Road, Abbotsford.
This will be our last Camp Vintage event and we want to especially invite all of our returning College and University students to come and be a part of this. We will gather at Mill Lake Picnic Shelter #4 on Bevan Rd and enjoy some singing, sharing and a devotional time together. After, we will undoubtedly enjoy a pick-up game of soccer or football and watch how competitive some people in your church really are. For those with bocce or the like, please bring them so we can enjoy other games together as well. At noon will enjoy a Potluck Picnic lunch, so bring a lunch to share with the community. Vintage will provide drinks, plates and cutlery.
Vintage is Moving Locations!
On Sunday September 14th Vintage will be meeting at the Town Cinema Theatres. The Grand closed its doors at the end of August and The Towne Cinema, which is owned by the same parent company, Landmark Cinemas, invited us to continue our partnership with them. As we have looked at the new theatre, I am excited as it appears that it will actually work better for our needs as a church. There will be some adjustments but the LORD continues to provide for us and our needs. Starting September 14th we will be Meeting @ The Towne Cinema Theatre, Sundays at 10:00 a.m. - 1518 McCallum Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S 8A3

Camp Vintage Week 4 - August 24
Camping @ Camp Linley @ Cultus Lake
This weekend we have booked out Camp Linley at Cultas Lake (just above Stillwood Camp) for Saturday Night. We will start officially in the early afternoon on Saturday and will be staying through Sunday afternoon. Here are some questions you may have:
What do I have to bring?
Nothing, but your own bedding! We encourage people who have camping equipment to bring it, but it is not necessary. We are encouraging people to bring games and other fun things we can enjoy doing together.
What will Vintage provide?
Saturday Supper, Saturday Night Shmores, Sunday Breakfast and Sunday Lunch complete with drinks. If everyone could bring some camp snacks and desserts that is greatly encouraged!
Do we have to stay in a tent?
No, not if you don’t want to. There are several cabins on site, so if one does not have or does not want to sleep in a tent they do not have to. If you want to tent there is lots of great tenting spots.
Can I bring my own Camper or Trailer?
Yes! If you have a trailer or camper it can be brought on the sight as well.
How much does it cost?
The cost is around $20 per person with food. However, since this is our church gathering, we are not charging, but encourage everyone to be tithing as if we were having our regular gathering on Sunday mornings.
Can I come just for Sunday?
Yes! However, we encourage everyone to come and enjoy the great outdoors so we can continue to get to know one another. We will be posting a schedule later this week! We will be having our speaking and singing probably around 10 or so.
Can we come up earlier?
Yes, some of us will be going up on Friday night. Anyone is welcome to come up then as well, or early on Saturday. However, the program portion will not start until Saturday afternoon.
What will we be doing?
Enjoying each other and God’s creation! More details will follow this week. If you have input as to some great activities that we can do as a church family please let me know at johnny@vintage242church.com
Can I check out the camp online?
Yes! go to http://www.fraservalley.scouts.ca/resources/linley.htm
How can we register?
Just send and email to me, johnny@vintage242church.com
Please do this asap so we can plan the food and events properly!

Camp Vintage Bibliocache Adventure Is ON!
4:00 PM Saturday August 9
We have surveyed the planned site and the First, Possibly Annual, Camp Vintage Bibliocache Adventure is on—rain or shine! We did the hike and scoped out the whole area today in steady rain and yet, within the trees and for most of the hike area, it was mostly dry. The forecast tomorrow is for continuing improvement so we are expecting a great time.
First, the hike will be a test, however we believe that it will be one that everyone, young and older, will be able to accomplish and have fun doing it. The scenery and nature is spectacular and the final destination is worth the effort. Remember, the purpose of this adventure it to learn more about how we are each members of one body and how we need to trust and depend on one another. We will need to live that out as part of this adventure.

Sunday August 10th Update
9:00 am Saturday August 9 - As you know, we have planned a special Bibliocaching adventure for tomorrow and this update is just to let you know that we are currently still hoping to go ahead with our plans, but also considering options due to the weather. We will be travelling out to the Chilliwack Lake area this morning to plan our adventure and will decide later this afternoon on where and what we will do. Please check the website after 6:00 PM this evening for final details.
It would also be helpful if we had a basic idea of how many were planning (rain or shine) to come out tomorrow for our overall planning. Please email Glenn - glenn@vintage242church.com and let him know that you are planning on coming tomorrow. If you will be away or unable to attend, we would appreciate hearing fro you as well.
IMPORTANT: Whatever the plans turn out to be, tomorrow will be a Potluck lunch after our adventure and teaching time. Please bring something to share and that does not need heating up. It may be possible to bring portable bbq/gas stoves for warming, we will let you know later today.
Introducing Camp Vintage
As announced last Sunday, we have decided to take a break from meeting at the Grand 6 Theatres in Abbotsford for the month of August. We have made some really great plans for Camp Vintage and hope you will join us for all five Sundays in August.
Beginning this Sunday, August 3rd, we will be meeting at various locations throughout the Lower Mainland to worship together in song, hear from God’s Word, pray together, have communion and spend some time really getting to know each other. We have sensed the Lord wants to speak into us individually and as a church in a special way to prepare us for His vision and ministry this fall.
