Gatherings:
A vintage242 worship gathering, is a time to connect with God and with others. It's a time to learn more, give more and receive more. Part of our name is taken from Acts chapter 2 verse 42 where "They [fellowship of believers] devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to breaking of bread and to prayer." This verse is so important for us because we strongly believe God created us to be in fellowship with Him and with others who seek after God.
To remind us of God's unfailing Love, and the incredible gift of salvation that He has freely given to us, we reverently have communion every Sunday. This is an important part of our Gatherings, this is to keep the focus on God both personally and as a family of believers.
Please feel free to come to a worship gathering no matter where you're at in life. Jesus gave us an amazing example of community, acceptance, accountability and most importantly Love, true Love.
This is what we strive for, this is our humble quest.
We're definitely not perfect, but Jesus is and that's why we're here.
Worship:Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire.'" Hebrews Chapter 12 Verse 28
Worship is a response to God's goodness. Worship is a thirst for truth. Worship is enjoying God, and leaning into His grace when we need it the most.
At vintage242 we know that worshipping God comes in many forms. We can sing, dance, be quiet and prayerful, or write down our thoughts. During the week, it may consist of helping someone, working hard at whatever we do, going for a walk or studying the bible because we just want to know more.
Music is definitely a big part of worship for us. Some of our songs are old, some are new, some we've written ourselves. Whatever songs we choose, we pray that they will reflect our love, adoration, respect, and awe of God. We also pray, that the songs will allow anyone coming to a worship gathering to connect with God on a personal level without distraction and without a flashy show.
